Old Spice vs Chico’s
Chico’s Bail Bonds has had an up and down season and this week’s challenge doesn’t get any easier in last year’s defending champs. Chico’s has been playing with more confidence of late, possibly due to the emergence of the 2nd and 3rd scoring options in Claudio Perfetto and Anthony Avona in recent weeks. They’re going to need big men Jay Hirshy and Mike Claps on the boards as Old Spice boasts the #1 rebounding front court. Old Spice’s John Moody is returning to form and is 2nd in the league in scoring, 1st in steals, 1st in assists and 1st in free throws per game. Obviously stopping him is a tall order.
Knicks vs Steven Seagal
Fresh off a stunning win over the Situation, Steven Seagal gets to see one of the league’s top newcomers in Jon Smith who is 3rd in the league in scoring with 22.7 ppg and 1st in 3PM per game with 4.3. Steven Seagal has seen improved play all around especially from two of its imports, Jason Beltran and Anthony Roxey, who had big games the last two weeks. They’re going to need to have big games this week against a very dangerous Knicks team resting two spots above them in the playoff race.
Trojans vs Retired Ballers
In probably the matchup of the week, 1st place Retired Ballers takes on the 3rd Place Trojan Men. Vinny Russo leads the Retired Ballers with 11.3 ppg, but the team distributes the scoring well with 3 other players tied with 11 ppg. Attempting to make it difficult for Russo will be the Big 3 of James Parese, Kevin LaTourette and Paul Rodriguez, who together, make up 89% of the team’s average scoring. Again they see a size disadvantage but again this season, Parese has been doing all of the dirty work, grabbing 9.4 boards per game to go along with his 16.2 ppg. From all indications it could be a preview of the 3-point shootout between Kevin LaTourette and Andrew and Anthony Billups who all aren’t shy behind the arc.
SiC vs The Situation
Both coming off losses, they should be hungry for a win this week. How the Situation defends SiC’s Dwight M., who absolutely dominates in games. His 28.5ppg scoring average is tops in the league and his 9.5 rebounds is 3rd. Jeremy Apostol has shown his ability to hit big shots and distribute so slowing him down will be key. Jordan Paderon returned to the Situation last week and took over the scoring in the second half when Daniel Auguste and Mark Clemmons went cold. Jeff Charles had a big impact, affecting many more shots than the stats indicated. Against a smaller SiC lineup, he could prove big. Essentially, the Situation’s ability to shoot efficiently and spread the scoring could determine the outcome of the game.
